Online Learning Structure and Timeline

Hello Galbraith Grade 5 Learners and Families,

We've been hard at work organizing and structuring what our online learning is going to look like moving forward and look forward to continuing learning with you in this new learning landscape!

Here's what you can expect moving forward:

Each week, beginning on March 30, the Grade 5 team will be posting a project or series of learning activities for you to work on and complete. These projects will incorporate aspects of language, mathematics, and other school subjects. We expect students to work on their weekly project for approximately 1 hour a day, as outlined by the Minister of Education. Please check our website at least once a week to see what new content we have for your student.

We know many of you would like to expand and enhance your learning past the recommended one hour set by Alberta Education. We have made a list of suggestions of things to do both daily and weekly to help you be a great learner. Please do not feel like you need to do everything on this page, but we would love for you to try something every day!

If you have questions regarding specific activities, the weekly project, or would like more assistance, please see our contact page of the Grade 5 website. The contact page will have information on how to contact individual teachers, as well as ways to set up direct communication outside of email.

You'll be hearing from us by email to set up some meetings using Zoom, please be sure to respond with consent for your child to participate in our video conferences.

Talk soon,

Your Grade 5 Teachers
